Frequently Asked Questions
Membership
I applied for Membership but can't do anything?
When you apply for Membership, some of your information is e-mailed to your pastor or elder for verification. This can take several days. You can speed up this process by calling or emailing your pastor and asking him to check his e-mail.
What information does my pastor verify?
Your pastor is asked to verify your basic information such as name, age, church, city and state. In addition he is asked if you are a member in good and regular standing and if you are eligible for marriage.
Why do you verify my information with my pastor?
Verifying your information allows other Members to know that you are who you say you are. You will be able to meet other people whose information was also verified. This makes ReformedSingles.com a much better place to meet reformed Chrisian singles online. People who really are who they say they are!
How do I cancel my account?
Please email us with your name and User ID. You can delete your profile information but it will not delete your accout or your Paypal Subscription. You will continue to be billed until the subscription is cancelled.
Profile Information
What are Friends Only Profiles?
Your "Friends-Only Profile" is seen only by those you want to be Friends with. You can also add more photos seen only by your Friends.
Why do I see people online but not in the search?
People with usernames in the membership process show up in the "Who's Online" block yet won't have profiles until they complete the Membership application process.
How do I change my User ID?
You can change your User ID after you complete the membership application process. Once you complete your membership application process, click My Profile, enter a new User ID and then click the Submit button at the bottom.
Why can't I upload a picture?
If your image file is too large it won't upload. You'll need to resize the image in a photo editing software.
Making Friends
How do I make Friends?
There are 2 ways. You can view other Member Public profiles and click the "Request Friend" link. Your potential Friend will be notified so they can read your Public profile. At that point they can choose to accept or reject your request for friendship.
The other way is for another Member to request that you be their Friend. You review the person's Public profile and choose whether or not to accept the request.
Why don't girls ask me to be Friends?
You may be a homeschooler and never been to a dance. Some girls will ask shy boys to dance. Others will not make the first move and will wait for a boy to ask them to dance. Likewise, there are female members at ReformedSingles.com who simply won't ask any male to be a Friend.
So take a deep breath and click the Request Friend link!
How can I support ReformedSingles.com?
Glad you asked! You can help support the activities with a contribution of any amount.
Known Bugs
Why do you show "Married" as a relationship status?
Two reasons: Your Director of Member Services is married so don't search for him! Plus the site allows for "Content Administrators" such as pastors and authors who can join the site, upload articles, and join in the comment discussions. In version 2, we'll eliminate any and all "marrieds" from the Search function.
Why does my Membership Profile information overlap the page footer?
This bug limits how much you can write about yourself on your Profile page. You can write way more than a Twitter tweet yet not enough to tell it all. Sorry about that! We'll fix this bug in version 2.
